Louwman has been granted the designation ‘Royal’ by His Majesty King Willem-Alexander at the Louwman Museum in The Hague. During a celebratory lunch with family members and colleagues, the honourable distinction was solemnly presented by Jaap Smit, the King’s Commissioner for the province of Zuid-Holland to company president Eric Louwman and Chairman Evert Louwman, in attendance of The Hague’s Mayor Jan van Zanen.
The Royal designation is a historic milestone for the Louwman family business and testifies to its exceptional contributions to the Dutch society and economy. What started in 1923 as the boyhood dream of Piet Louwman and Arie Parqui has flourished into a thriving company driven by entrepreneurial spirit and courage.
Every day, Louwman puts its customers first. The company offers a wide range of suitable, affordable and sustainable mobility solutions, including bicycles, e-bikes, motorcycles, cars and mobility scooters. This dedication and continuous pursuit of improvement are at the heart of Louwman.
Eric Louwman, President of Louwman Group, shares his enthusiasm: “It’s with great honour and pride that we have been granted this Royal designation. Both the King’s Commissioner and the Mayor of The Hague’s warm speeches at the ceremony are of immeasurable value to our family. For us as a family business, this royal recognition is a reward for a hundred years of entrepreneurship.
With 3,800 colleagues as our highly valued employees, we always have an eye for long-term relationships with our customers as well as our brand partners. For us, mobility represents more than just transportation. It encompasses emotion, accessibility and freedom. This tribute to our passion reflects respect, appreciation and trust, values that are at the core of our company. This recognition applies to the past, present, and, above all, to future generations. It’s with great confidence that we look forward to the next one hundred years.”
